So right at this moment, I'm sitting in Singapore airport watching the planes come in and out, waiting for my flight to Mumbai and the next chapter in this huge adventure. I'm writing this short update on my phone just to bring you up to speed before I relay everything onto you when I get home. Our time in Singapore was incredible, truly amazing - what a beautiful city this is. I have never seen so many magnificent orchids before, and the gardens, so lovely! And we had so much fun here. The Frida gig was like something out of a dream. We had people clambering over each other to get photos with us. All 150 of our CDs went in two minutes and people missed out. The Singapore National Day Parade rehearsals were going on during our set just down the Esplanade, so just before we went on to play the stage manager told us that there would be fighter jets flying over during our set and to just keep playing when they do. And they did. During the first song they flew over the water and over our heads and the noise was deafening. I literally couldn't hear anything but we just kept going and it was one of the most incredible moments of my life.
We had Singapore slings at Raffles where they were invented, and de-shelled and ate many many peanuts there. We danced to a terrible cover band who had been playing there since 1981 and they sung Angel by Robbie Williams and I still know all the words. We met many friendly people and were very spoilt during the whole experience. I am so grateful and proud.
But now India, and I have butterflies with eagle wings flapping around in my stomach, wondering if I'm ready, if I get sick and how sick will I get, how will I deal with the things and sights that people have told me about...but it's OK, because I have my Lewis, and my friends here all together, and we are all in the same crazy boat. If it rocks a little, even if it goes completely under, we'll still all be in it together.
